- Instant yeast – 1 tsp
- All-purpose flour – 2 cups
- Salt -1/2 tsp

Steps for soft doughnuts
- Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Whisk well.
- Then, add flour and salt. Knead until all flour is absorbed into the dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- Add softened butter. Knead until smooth.
- Cover and let it rest for one hour or until doubled in size.
- Divide into 10-12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a neat ball.
- Make a hole in the middle of each dough ball using your index finger. Then, widen the holes to about 2 inches wide. You can use your two index fingers to do this by rotating the dough around your fingers.
- Cover the doughnuts and let them rest for 40 minutes.
- Fry the doughnuts on medium-low heat until well browned on both sides.
- To coat with sugar (optional), place sugar in a wide bowl or plate and rub each doughnut on the sugar while it is hot.
- Allow to cool down. Serve and enjoy!
